Legacy of Kain is a series of video games by a company called “Silicon Knights” and the renowned Amy Hennig, before she went to Naughty Dog and worked on Uncharted and The Last of Us, she did Kain - so it has the credentials to back it up. This is a war for Nosgoth this is a war for the survival of each race.Long term readers of my meta will have heard me mention “Legacy of Kain” well, guess who’s finally writing that meta. Now, each race is pitted against the other. This attack reunited the warring Vampire Clans in the face of a common enemy. Cities were rebuilt, skills relearned and Humanity’s power recovered to the point where they could launch a devastating attack on their Vampire masters. With the Vampires focused on their internal squabbles, Nosgoth’s Human population seized the chance to grow stronger.
Riven by jealousy and conflicts, it was not long before their respective Clans began fighting among themselves. Gone, in search of a way to deliver Nosgoth from the corruption that had overcome the land, Kain left the throne and his Empire in the hands of his five remaining Lieutenants. Then, not long after executing his first-raised Lieutenant Raziel by casting him into the Lake of the Dead, Kain disappeared. Those Humans not corralled as playthings, servants and fodder for the Vampires were pushed out to the edges of the world, carving out an existence in the mountains and deep forests of Nosgoth, or exiled across the Great Southern Sea to the Hinterlands beyond. It took the iron will of one Vampire, Kain, to force a resolution to these conflicts, subjugating Nosgoth under his rule and establishing his unassailable court in the Heartlands. Down the ages, Humans have fought to destroy Vampires and Vampires to dominate Humanity. It has been millennia of conflict and hatred since Humanity began their first crusade to eradicate the Vampire race, and even longer since Vampires were cursed with immortality and blood-thirst. On Apdevelopers announced that development has ceased and that the game will remain live until May 31, 2016. Users will need a Steam account and be registered for Square Enix Membership. Nosgoth will be available on Steam on PC. The studio has grown significantly since the early 2000s and continues to specialize in game development for next-gen consoles, PC, and mobile platforms. Afterwards Psyonix took its experience in multiplayer and rapid gameplay development to work on such titles as Gears of War, Unreal Tournament 3, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, Homefront, Bulletstorm, and Mass Effect 3.
The studio's first game was the highly successful Onslaught for Unreal Tournament 2004, a game mode Psyonix concepted and designed. As experts in Unreal Engine technology and multiplayer gaming, Psyonix has been a driving force behind some of the biggest titles in the marketplace. They have been working with industry leading game publishers and developers for over ten years. All you need to know is that the two factions involved – Humans and Vampires – are locked in a bloody struggle to control the land of Nosgoth, a land they both share and call home. Nosgoth is set on its own distinct era of the Legacy of Kain timeline and knowledge of prior events, while empowering, is by no means necessary. Nosgoth is a free-to-play competitive, team-based Human versus Vampire free-to-play multiplayer experience set in the brutal fantasy world of the Legacy of Kain series.
